The Monster Colosseum is a challenge area suitable for players of all
levels.
To fight in the Colosseum, you must purchase a ticket and then decide which
level of difficulty you want your opponents to be. There are five modes:
easy, medium, hard, insane, and survival.
In each mode, there are 20 rounds and the mobs increase in difficulty each
round. Because of the nature of this area, you may die before reaching the
final round. However, deaths in this area are not added to your overall
death toll (see whois), and there are no penalties for death. It is also
possible to flee from battle. You can try to clear the colosseum while
Hardcore for an additional challenge with additional rewards.
The fifth mode, Survival, is a little different. There are 1000 rounds
instead of 20, and the monsters you fight have the same capabilities as
insane mode. The mode tracks the highest level monster you've defeated in
both standard and hardcore survival modes, and you can view the top score
leaderboards at the service center. The Thief skill explode is banned.
There are no breaks between battles, except for every 50th round. In
hardcore mode, every second round will get you an extra Survival point.
The monsters reward different points which can be used to purchase special
items such as runes, equipment, and mudpies. There are several point shops,
at least one for each difficulty, which can be found east of Brutus.
You can enter the Monster Colosseum on each mode once every eight hours.
